On Wednesday, April 1, the University of Nebraska at Omaha and the Atlantic Council hosted the eighth Chuck Hagel Forum in Global Leadership. The event series explores solutions to today’s biggest global challenges, featuring elected officials, policymakers, and thinkers in conversation with former US Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel.
This year, Hagel was joined by former US Director of National Intelligence Avril Haines. Haines led the US intelligence community and served as the president’s principal intelligence adviser. She has held senior roles across government, including deputy director of the Central Intelligence Agency and deputy national security advisor.
Hagel served as chairman of the Atlantic Council from February 2009 to February 2013. He is currently a distinguished statesman and serves as a member of the Council’s International Advisory Board.
