On Friday, May 15, at 9:00 a.m. ET / 3:00 p.m. CET, the Atlantic Council’s Europe Center will host a virtual conversation on the Western Balkans’ accession to the Single Euro Payments’ Area (SEPA).
For the Western Balkans, integration into SEPA is not only a technical process about harmonization with EU standards, but also a central piece of the region’s broader geopolitical and strategic agendas. SEPA integration for the Western Balkans presents both an opportunity for businesses and individuals in the region as well as momentum for the EU enlargement process.
The Europe Center, as part of its Balkans Forward Initiative, will convene experts and policymakers from the most prominent institutions working on the region’s SEPA integration to discuss the benefits and broader implications for the Western Balkans as well as the EU and United States.
