The Eurasia Center and Strategic Litigation Project discuss Russia’s predatory recruitment of foreign fighters in its war against Ukraine.

On Friday, June 5 at 10:00 a.m. ET, the Atlantic Council’s Eurasia Center and Strategic Litigation Project will host a virtual discussion on Russia’s predatory recruitment of foreign fighters in its war against Ukraine. Panelists will discuss findings in a new report by International Federation for Human Rights (FIDH) and Truth Hounds.

In its full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Russia has struggled to maintain a sufficient fighting force and is turning to foreign nationals, using deceptive and coercive recruitment processes to lure individuals to join Russia’s Armed Forces. The report and discussion will provide hard-hitting evidence of Moscow’s large-scale human trafficking operation and global autocratic reach.

The event will feature the report’s authors discussing their findings and a moderated conversation on this critical topic.
