
Áslaug Arna Sigurbjornsdottir

Áslaug Arna Sigurbjornsdottir is a 2026–27 Millennium fellow and a politician from Reykjavík, Iceland, with more than a decade of experience in government and public service. She has been a member of the Icelandic parliament since 2016 and served as minister of justice and later as minister of higher education, science, and innovation. She has held leadership roles in government and the Independence Party, shaping national policy on justice, education, innovation, artificial intelligence, and digital transformation. Before entering politics, Sigurbjornsdottir worked as a journalist and a police officer. She studied law at the University of Iceland and holds a master of public administration in global leadership from Columbia University.
