On Monday, September 28, at 12:30 p.m. ET, the Atlantic Council’s Scowcroft Center for Strategy and Security and Global China Hub will launch a new Atlantic Council Strategy Paper, “Technology and the Global South: A US strategy for competitiveness.”
China has been deepening its technological presence and influence across the Global South. This report, led by Peter Engelke and Conrad Tucker, is the culmination of a three-year project examining the evolving technology landscape in the Global South and how countries in the region perceive and navigate the US-China tech competition. It also identifies strategic opportunities for the United States to strengthen its approach and offers recommendations for US policymakers.
This conversation will dive into the report’s recommendations and explore how the United States can pursue an effective and sustainable strategy to strengthen partnerships across the Global South, amid China’s growing tech influence.
