German on Trial for Stealing NATO Passwords

The 60-year-old NATO employee at the Ramstein Air Force Base is known only as Manfred K.

From DPA:  A German civilian accused of stealing passwords that would have enabled hackers to break into NATO computers went on trial for espionage Wednesday. . . .

The indictment said he took home data files containing classified data in March 2012 with the aim of offering secrets for sale once he retired four months later. The files would have revealed the architecture of NATO’s computer systems and help hackers break in.  (photo: DAPD)
