Obama to Attend Funeral for Polish President

From the New York Times:  President Obama will travel to Krakow, Poland, this weekend to attend the funeral of Polish President Lech Kaczynski, who was killed last weekend in a plane crash.

Robert Gibbs, the White House press secretary, said in a statement, “The president will travel to Krakow to express the depth of our condolences to an important and trusts ally, and our support for the Polish people, on behalf of the American people.”

Mr. Obama will leave Washington on Saturday evening, arriving in Krakow on Sunday to attend the funeral, which will also include services for the president’s wife, Maria Kaczynska.  (photo: AP)
