From the Azeri-Press Agency (APA): Russia’s envoy to NATO Dmitry Rogozin called on the military alliance to recognize the Collective Security Treaty Organization . . .

“This is ridiculous and unserious attitude. NATO is aware that the Collective Security Treaty Organization is preparing programs on ensuring security in the Central Asia. I hope Collective Security Treaty Organization and NATO will soon sign an agreement on cooperation. Russia insists on signing such an agreement,” he said.

NATO Secretary-General Anders Fogh Rasmussen had said that the alliance established relations with the countries included into the Collective Security Treaty Organization and the representative of the organization is invited to the meetings within the framework of NATO-Russia Council in Brussels.

“But there is no consensus in NATO on officializing the relations between the two organizations,” he said. (graphic: odkb.gov.ru)
