Top News: Egypt Court Sentences Mubarak-era Prime Minister to Five Years Over Graft

An Egyptian criminal court has sentenced former prime minister under ousted president Hosni Mubarak, Ahmed Nazif, to five years jail over graft charges, toughening an earlier three-year sentence in a retrial. Nazif was also given a EGP 53.3 million fine in the corruption case dating to his tenure under Mubarak.

Top News: Two Turkish Policemen Shot Dead Near Syrian Border, PKK Claims Attack

A Turkish official said two police officers were found shot dead in their home Wednesday morning in the Turkish-Syrian border city of Ceylanpinar. Militants in the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) released a statement shortly after the attack claiming responsibility and saying it was in retaliation for the suicide bombing that killed thirty-two people in Suruc on Monday.
