On September 11th, the Atlantic Council’s Dinu Patriciu Eurasia Center hosted Yiorgos Lakkotrypis, Cypriot minister of energy, commerce, industry and tourism for an off-the-record strategy session as part of the Council’s Eurasian Energy Futures Initiative.
The Initiative reflects the Atlantic Council’s systematic and comprehensive work as the premiere venue on Eurasian energy. We work together with key political leaders, thinkers, analysts, and the top industrial players in the United States, Europe, and Eurasia to lead a strategic debate on the future of energy markets and to chart a course for sustainable development and trade of global energy resources. Energy developments in the Eastern Mediterranean form an integral part of the Initiative and are of pivotal importance to regional stability and prosperity.
