On June 4, the Atlantic Council hosted Brigadier General Bruno Caïtucoli, defense attaché at the Embassy of France in Washington, DC, for a strategy session on the French White Paper on Defense and National Security.
Brigadier General Caïtucoli outlined the main points of the White Paper, released on April 29, underlining the continuity and updates from the previous one published in 2008. He stressed the importance of the context in which the White Paper was designed, and touched upon the entire scope of defense challenges that face not only France but other NATO members.
Brigadier General Caïtucoli has been the French defense attaché in Washington, DC since 2011. Prior to his current assignment, he served in Chad in 2009 as Commander of the French Elements. He also led the Strategic Issues Team at the NATO Headquarters in Brussels.
