President Obama has acknowledge more than once that we do not have "a complete strategy" for dealing with Syria, and implicitly for the complex set of problems besetting the entire Middle East region. To address this need, the Atlantic Council has organized a Middle East Strategy Task Force, co-chaired by former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright and former National Security Advisor Stephen Hadley, and operating in close consultation with eminent experts from the region and Europe, and across US partisan political lines. The Task Force will focus on advancing the strategic collaboration among Americans, and among our closest friends and allies in Europe and in the Middle East about best policies and convergences of interests that ultimately can lead to the breakthroughs to a more stable and prosperous region.
Please join us on Wednesday, July 22, for an exclusive private members' briefing and post-briefing reception with Ambassador Frank Ricciardone, director of the Rafik Hariri Center for the Middle East, on the progress of this important project. Please note, the program will be starting promptly at 6:00PM.
Kindly RSVP online, or contact Kayvan Chinichian at kchinichian@atlanticcouncil.org or at 202-778-4961 if you would like to participate remotely.
