Last month, Canada unveiled its new defense policy, Our North Strong and Free, which prioritizes North American security and Arctic sovereignty, and increases Canada’s defense investments. As the NATO Leaders Summit approaches in July, strengthening Allied cooperation and collective defense is paramount to transatlantic unity.

This conversation will focus on the updated defense policy, explore US-Canadian bilateral relations, address Canada’s role in transatlantic security, and the steps Canada and its allies are taking to ensure the long-term stability and security of North America and the Euro-Atlantic community, including continued support for Ukraine.

To discuss these issues and more, the Atlantic Council welcomes Minister Blair for this timely and important conversation.
