The first LNG cargo from the Lower 48 to reach European shores landed in Portugal earlier this year, while Portugal also plays a leading role in developing its renewable energy resources on- and offshore. Portuguese Minister of Sea Ana Paula Vitorino joins the Atlantic Council’s Eurasian Energy Futures Initiative to discuss US-Portugal energy relations, the potential of the Iberian Peninsula as an alternative import route for US natural gas to Europe, and Portugal’s potential in developing oceanic renewable energies.
