Academics and pundits alike offer remedies for how the US government should navigate the interagency process to form effective strategies that address today’s geopolitical challenges. As it stands, the process is bureaucratized and difficult to navigate, creating speed bumps that hinder the government’s ability to provide allies and partners with the critical support they need in the face of today’s security challenges, emerging from all corners of the world. How would reform truly affect the interagency process? How can we prepare our government to respond faster and better to geopolitical issues like the Greek crisis, an assertive Russia, a continually rising China, and the ISIS threat? Please join the Atlantic Council on Tuesday, July 14, from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. for a strategic conversation on these issues with Adm. James Stavridis, USN (Ret.), Dean of The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University; the Hon. Stephen J. Hadley, former National Security Advisor and Principal at RiceHadleyGates; Dr. Fran Burwell, Vice President and Director of the Program on Transatlantic Relations; and Mr. Frederick Kempe, President and CEO of the Atlantic Council.

During the event we will also announce the official launch of a new long-term partnership between the Atlantic Council and The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University. The nexus between government, nonprofit, and academic work is more important than ever in today’s international security landscape. Both institutions are committed to ensuring that the nonprofit and educational sectors work together to determine successful solutions to today’s national security challenges. We look forward to seeing you for what is sure to be an exciting event.
