Please plan to join the Atlantic Council’s Brent Scowcroft Center on International Security and the Norwegian Institute for Defence Studies (IFS) for a conference on The Future of NATO and the Transatlantic Relationship on Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at the Oslo Military Society, Myntgaten 3, 0151 in Oslo, Norway.

This is the third major conference in the joint Atlantic Council and Norwegian Institute for Defence Studies’ NATO in an Era of Global Competition project, an eighteen-month effort aimed at defining the role of NATO and the broader transatlantic community in an era of emerging security challenges, global power shifts, and new disruptive technologies.

The upcoming conference will gather key US and European stakeholders, experts, and government leaders to discuss the current state of transatlantic relations and the transatlantic community’s role in addressing security challenges around the world as NATO draws down from its mission in Afghanistan and enters a new chapter in its history.

The conference will feature opening remarks by Norwegian Minister of Defense H.E. Ine Eriksen Søreide.
