After 20 years of negotiations, Mercosur and the European Union reached a trade deal on June 28, 2019. Considered one of the most important trade accords for both blocs, this agreement comes at a moment of increasing trade tensions and waves of protectionism around the world.

What was agreed on, and what would be the implications for Mercosur and EU member countries? What are the prospects and next steps for approval?

Join the Atlantic Council’s Adrienne Arsht Latin America Center, the Global Business and Economics Program, and the Future Europe Initiative via conference call on Tuesday, July 2, 2019, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. (EDT) for an inside perspective on the accord.
