After 20 years of negotiations, Mercosur and the European Union reached a trade deal on June 28, 2019. Considered one of the most important trade deals of all time, this agreement comes at a moment of increasing trade tensions and waves of protectionism around the world.

What was agreed on, and what are the implications of such a deal to Mercosur and EU member countries? What are the next steps for implementation?

Join the Atlantic Council’s Adrienne Arsht Latin America Center, its Global Business and Economics Program, and its Future Europe Initiative via conference call on Monday, July 1, 2019, for a conversation about this historical agreement and what it means to Mercosur and EU countries, as well as the international community.
