On Thursday, October 10 at 11:15 a.m. ET, the Atlantic Council will host an #ACFrontPage conversation featuring United States Senator Mark Warner (D-VA), an Atlantic Council GeoTech Commission Co-Chair, to discuss the biggest global risks and opportunities awaiting the next US president and the role Congress will play in addressing them. This edition of Atlantic Council Front Page is part of the Atlantic Council’s election-year event series, “Elections 2024: America’s Role in the World,” and supported by RBC Capital Markets, LLC.

Since World War II, the United States has played a leading role in upholding a rules-based international system. Now the United States confronts major challenges across the globe—from competition with an increasingly aggressive China and revisionist Russia, to widening conflict in the Middle East, to emerging and transformative technologies. In this pivotal period, it is vital that the next US president have a clear, long-term strategy for US security and prosperity.

Ahead of the 2024 US elections, Warner will join the Atlantic Council to discuss his expectations for a potential Kamala Harris presidency. After brief remarks from Frederick Kempe, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Atlantic Council, and Helima Croft, Managing Director and Global Head of Commodity Strategy, RBC Capital Markets, the chairman of the US Senate Select Committee on Intelligence will lay out, in conversation with moderator Brian Sullivan, Anchor and Senior National Correspondent for CNBC, how he believes the United States should conceptualize its role in the world, position itself to counter authoritarian competitors and adversaries, manage the disruptive impact of new technologies, and prepare for intensified great-power competition in the coming years.

This edition of #ACFrontPage, hosted by the Scowcroft Center for Strategy and Security, will take place in person at the Atlantic Council studios in Washington, DC.
