On Wednesday, December 17, at 9:00 a.m. ET, the Atlantic Council’s Transatlantic Project will host a conversation with Julien Barnes-Dacey, director of the Middle East and North Africa Programme at the European Council on Foreign Relations.

The session will explore how European and US strategies toward the Middle East and North Africa intersect and diverge amid shifting global power dynamics, regional instability, and evolving security challenges. Drawing on his deep policy experience and regional expertise, Barnes-Dacey will assess how both sides of the Atlantic are approaching key issues such as conflict resolution, migration, energy security, and diplomacy.
