As the United States emerges from its election and prepares for a Trump Presidency, the transatlantic community is now watching France in the run-up to its 2017 presidential election, which could produce the next major shift in the transatlantic political landscape.

France has the potential to play a catalytic role in shaping the transatlantic future at a time when the futures of the European Union and NATO are in question. Join us for a discussion that will gather French and American policy leaders to strategize how to strengthen France domestically and reinforce French leadership and French-American cooperation as a force for unity, stability, and prosperity across the wider transatlantic community.

This event accompanies the release of “France: Europe’s Swing State: Foreign Policy Begins at Home”, a policy paper authored by Atlantic Council Senior Fellows Jérémie Gallon and Jeff Lightfoot.
