9:00 – 10:30 a.m. EST

On January 23, Juan Guaidó took the oath of office as interim president of Venezuela. Chile and Paraguay, along with the United States, Canada, Brazil, Colombia, and many other countries from the region and the world recognized him as such. European member states issued an ultimatum to Maduro to call for free and fair elections.

What additional steps might the international community take to support the interim government? What are the new government’s next steps?

Join the Adrienne Arsht Latin America Center on, Wednesday, January 30, 2019, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. EST, for a conversation on expectations in the upcoming days, the consequences for Venezuela and for Nicolás Maduro, and the steps ahead.
