Talks are due to resume November 29 in Vienna to consider the possibility of reviving the 2015 Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) which put verifiable curbs on Iran’s nuclear program in return for sanctions relief. Given the publicly expressed positions of Iran and the Biden administration, progress is likely to be difficult. The Atlantic Council’s Future of Iran Initiative invites you to a discussion of the Vienna talks and whether there are any viable alternatives to diplomacy that would relieve pressure on the Iranian people and restore a multilateral approach toward Iran while restricting its ability to develop nuclear weapons.

The discussion will be held via Zoom on December 9, 2021, from 2:00 pm – 3:30 pm ET. A link to the meeting will be sent to those who register to attend. The event is open to press and on-the-record.
