On January 14th from 7:45-10am, there will be a Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory briefing on directed energy/laser weapons, hypersonic strike, and challenges to the nuclear stockpile. The goal of this roundtable will be to learn how emerging technologies will change the notion of deterrence, especially in East Asia. The aim will be to look past classical deterrence in order to see how states can deter other states, non-state actors, and potential contingencies in the coming world.
