On Wednesday, December 3, at 1:00 p.m. CET/7:00 a.m. ET, the Atlantic Council’s Global Energy Center will host a private, off-the-record roundtable in Berlin to discuss the European Union’s evolving sustainability policies and their impact on competitiveness.

The conversation will examine how complex regulations—such as the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD) and Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD)—affect trade and business costs amid the ongoing sustainability omnibus review.

Senior business leaders, policymakers, and experts will convene to share candid views on Europe’s competitiveness and expectations for the sustainability framework. The roundtable will be preceded by a lunch, and there will be a private reception following the discussion.
