In coordination with the International Republican Institute (IRI), the Atlantic Council's Africa Center invites you to a discussion with IRI's Nigeria Country Director Sentell Barnes, Africa Regional Director John Tomaszewski, and international polling consultant Robert Carpenter on the IRI Center for Insights in Survey Research recent public opinion poll in the country. Fielded April 18 – May 6, 2016, just over a year after Nigeria's landmark March 2015 presidential election that resulted in the transfer of power from Goodluck Jonathan to Muhammadu Buhari, the poll reveals that Nigerians remain polarized between North and South, but support the democratic process and believe that democracy has improved since the 2015 national elections.
