The aviation industry faces a complex and critical challenge to get its cybersecurity right. Adding to this is an increasing number of reported vulnerabilities, claims, counter claims and attacks that give the impression of an escalating problem. Each stakeholder involved has a different perspective of the threats, risks, and potential solutions, making understanding the landscape difficult.

Together, we will explore key challenge areas such as aircraft, Air Traffic Management, airports and public policy at the domestic and international levels. Additionally, the report will examine the cultural differences that exist within the aviation and cybersecurity industries, and potential next steps that may deliver a more resilient aviation industry.

The event will explore key national and international policy challenges for:

  • Aircraft (including unmanned)
  • Air Traffic Management
  • Airports
  • Supply Chain

The event will also explore cultural differences between the aviation and cybersecurity industries to ensure better understanding and help deliver a safe and prosperous aviation industry with resilient trust and systems.

With the increasingly complex threats facing the aviation sector, the Atlantic Council’s Cyber Statecraft Initiative and Thales are launching their first paper on the cybersecurity landscape of the aviation industry. Join a group of leading aviation industry and cybersecurity experts as they discuss the report’s key findings and examine the threats, vulnerabilities and potential solutions in an increasingly connected aviation ecosystem.
