The Atlantic Council and Thomson Reuters invite you to the launch of the "Power of Transparency" speaker series, featuring Assistant Secretary for Terrorist Financing Daniel Glaser, on April 21st, 2016.

Financial transparency is a fundamental element to fulfilling the Department of the Treasury's mission to “maintain a strong economy and create economic and job opportunities by promoting the conditions that enable economic growth and stability at home and abroad, strengthen national security by combating threats and protecting the integrity of the financial system, and manage the US Government’s finances and resources effectively.” Combatting illicit finance, including related to corruption, is possible only when government, citizens, and the private sector cooperate to ensure transparency.

As the first in a speaker series on the "Power of Transparency", Assistant Secretary Glaser will talk about the "Role of Financial Transparency in Fighting Corruption and Preventing Illicit Proceeds from Entering the Financial System."

This event is open to the press. Assistant Secretary Glaser’s opening remarks will be on-the-record, and the Q&A portion of the event will be off-the-record.
