Three years after Maidan, Ukraine still faces critical challenges in economic and political reforms, as well as the ability to defend itself from Russian aggression. The ongoing armed conflict in Ukraine’s east and partial territorial occupation make this enormous endeavor even more difficult. Despite that, Ukraine has managed not only to avoid the worst-case scenario, but also to make some achievements in stabilizing the internal political and economic situation, strengthening national defense capabilities, and launching ambitious reforms in almost all spheres. This conference will look back at Ukraine’s key achievements and shortcomings of 2016, while looking ahead toward 2017.

The Atlantic Council and the Razumkov Centre will bring together experts for three panels: Government, Reforms, Society; Ukrainian-Russian Conflict; and Ukraine's Economy: Signs and Prospects of Recovery.
