Please join us for a roundtable discussion with a delegation of members from the European Parliament’s Committee on Foreign Affairs, led by Chairman Elmar Brok MEP. The event will be held from 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at the Atlantic Council.

A month ahead of the Eastern Partnership Summit in Vilnius, Lithuania, Chairman Brok and his colleagues are looking forward to an informal exchange of views on how the European Union and the United States can jointly address ongoing pressure by Russia on the Eastern Partnership countries and ensure their continued pursuit of European integration. The delegation also wishes to discuss a range of related issues, including the energy security agenda in the context of Eastern Partnership, stability in the South Caucasus and the role of Turkey in the region, as well as support for human rights organizations in Russia itself. Chairman Brok and his committee colleagues are closely involved in shaping the EU Eastern Partnership policy. The European Parliament initiated the Kwasniewski-Cox mission which monitors the treatment of Julia Tymoshenko.
