Following Prime Minister Modi’s successful visit to the United States in September, President Obama will travel to India to attend the Republic Day celebration as the chief guest. This marks the first US president to attend the anniversary of the adoption of India’s constitution as well as the first US President to visit India for the second time. President Obama will meet with the prime minister and other Indian officials to expand the bilateral strategic partnership. As the United States and India work to strengthen political and economic ties, Senator Warner will explore what opportunities lie ahead for the United States and India to engage in ways that bring long term benefits not only to both countries but also to the region and the world.
