Within the first 100 days of the new administration, both Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and Chinese President Xi Jinping have traveled to the United States to meet with President Donald Trump. 

While rising tensions on the Korean peninsula are captivating headlines, security challenges across the region still remain, like a revanchist Russia, and an increasingly assertive China. In an atmosphere of ambiguity, US commitment to the Asia-Pacific region is needed now more than ever.
