Diego Scharifker was the director of corporate partnerships at the Atlantic Council. His team was responsible for building long-lasting corporate partnerships with organizations interested in joining forces to tackle some of the world’s most complex issues.
Previously, he was part of the corporate partnerships team at the United Service Organization, an over eighty-year-old nonprofit whose mission is to strengthen American service members by keeping them connected to family, home, and country throughout their service.
Originally from Venezuela, Scharifker is a former student-movement leader and member of the Caracas City Council. His tenure is recognized for building strong relationships with community groups and the private sector to advance social programs and solutions for the most impoverished areas during some of Venezuela’s most difficult times.
He graduated as a lawyer from the Universidad Central de Venezuela and has a Master of Public Administration from the Trachtenberg School of Public Policy and Public Administration at George Washington University.
