François Christophe is a nonresident senior fellow at the Atlantic Council’s Africa Center and a senior geopolitical analyst with over a decade of experience in international affairs and political risk, focusing particularly on Africa. His areas of expertise include East Africa and the impact of authoritarian regimes on regional conflicts. 

Highlights of his work include analyzing political and security risks across more than fifteen African countries for private clients, conducting field trips to assess infrastructure needs in key African markets, and taking part in the EU–Eritrea political dialogue during his diplomatic tenure in Asmara, Eritrea.

Christophe holds a master of arts in public affairs from Sciences Po and studied political science at The Johns Hopkins University. His analyses have been published by France’s Foundation for Strategic Research, among other outlets and organizations.
