Ignacio Albe is a program assistant at the Atlantic Council’s Adrienne Arsht Latin America Center, where he supports programming on Argentina, Brazil, inter-American affairs, and issues related to political economy. Albe supports the Center’s work on Argentina’s economic and political agenda, as well as programming and research on the Southern Cone and the Summit of the Americas process.

Prior to joining the Atlantic Council, Albe worked at the Center for Global Development and the Georgetown Americas Institute, where he conducted macroeconomic research focusing on issues related to political economy in Latin America with a focus on Argentina. He has also worked at the Inter-American Development Bank, the Inter-American Dialogue, and Blue Star Strategies. In 2023, he was awarded the National Academy of Public Administration’s Herbert Roback Fellowship. In Argentina, Albe was the personal assistant to the mayor of his hometown in the Buenos Aires Metropolitan Area.

Albe holds a master of science degree in foreign affairs from Georgetown University’s Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service; a master of law degree in China studies with a concentration in politics and international relations from the Yenching Academy of Peking University in Beijing, China; and a bachelor’s degree in international relations from the Universidad del Salvador in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Originally from Argentina, Albe speaks Spanish, English, Portuguese, and French.
