Jose Ziebarth is director of the Brazilian Ministry of Economy, focused on data protection & privacy, digital government, and debureaucratization & state reform policies. With over 16 years of experience, Ziebarth has an interdisciplinary resume, including extensive volunteer activities, and has had diverse experiences in the Brazilian federal government, private sector, and academia in Latin America, North America and Asia-Pacific. Ziebarth was a key architect of the first online master’s program on global competition and consumer laws at Melbourne Law School, a world’s top ten law school, reaching out policy-makers and students from more than 35 countries. Having comprehensive academic experience at premier Australian and Brazilian universities, Ziebarth is also a former Visiting Scholar at Columbia University and Research Fellow at the American Antitrust Institute. Ziebarth is a award-winning author and editor of academic journals, and received numerous accolades, including the first prize of the Inter-American Development Bank and Brazilian Association of Development Research Award. He speaks regularly at major international conferences.
