Kurt Davis Jr. is a nonresident senior fellow with the Atlantic Council’s Scowcroft Middle East Security Initiative and a 2024 Millennium fellow. He is a seasoned investment banker and private equity professional with extensive experience advising corporations, boards, and governments on complex financial transactions across global markets.

Davis currently leads the Middle East Debt Advisory team at Alvarez & Marsal, where he specializes in debt and equity financing, financial restructuring, and mergers and acquisitions. His career includes leadership roles at Barclays Capital, Houlihan Lokey, SPE Capital (formerly part of Swicorp), and Cerberus Frontier (previously SGI Frontier). He has worked with clients worldwide on high-profile restructuring and investment initiatives, with a particular focus on emerging and frontier markets.

Beyond his financial expertise, Davis is a recognized commentator on global markets and geopolitics. His insights have been featured in major international outlets, including the Financial Times, the New York Times, the Hill, Arab News, Asia Times, and the Washington Times. A passionate traveler, he has visited more than 120 countries, lending a unique global perspective to his advisory and thought-leadership work.

Davis is a member of the International Institute for Strategic Studies and the Bretton Woods Committee, and has served on multiple private and nonprofit boards across sectors including education, technology, consumer goods, and impact investment. He has also been selected as a young leader by the US-Spain Council, the Council for the US and Italy, the French-American Foundation, and the American-Turkish Society, and was a delegate of the British American Project.

He holds dual BA degrees in political and social thought (distinguished major) and foreign affairs, as well as a JD from the University of Virginia. He also earned an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
