Rebecca Askins-Gast is an analyst at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.  She focuses on the energy transition and development of the renewable energy sector in Central Asia and the Caucasus. Her work encompasses project loan structuring, due diligence, policy engagement, financing, and portfolio monitoring and analysis, and her projects range from large hydropower rehabilitation and infrastructure support projects in Georgia to project finance transactions for greenfield renewable power plants in Kazakhstan.

Previously, she worked at S-RM, a global risk and due diligence consultancy based in London, UK, where she specialized in identification and analysis of risk in the former Soviet states, Turkey, and China. She holds a bachelor of arts in East Asian Languages and Civilizations from the University of Chicago. She loves learning languages and is an avid runner.
