Shaun Fernando is a 2022 Atlantic Council Millennium fellow and strategy and economics leader at the global consulting firm Guidehouse.
Fernando has advised over eighty corporations, governments, and agencies internationally on developing market-based strategies that build thriving and competitive cities and regions. His areas of focus include economic and industrial strategy; net-zero climate and environmental, social, and governance transformation; and physical and social infrastructure. He has advised national governments on economic security, the European Commission on decarbonization policy, and US states and cities on decision making and management systems to deliver improved outcomes. More recently, his work has involved post-COVID society-wide recovery planning, looking to redress structural challenges around equity and sustainability through creating public-private partnerships for delivering both shareholder and societal value.
Prior to Guidehouse, Fernando worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers for nearly ten years in their London, Abu Dhabi, and San Francisco offices, the Global Green Growth Institute in the Middle East, and the World Bank’s International Finance Corporation in South Asia. He holds degrees in physics and engineering from University College London.
