Shiyana Gunasekara is an energy and climate consultant at Berkeley Research Group, LLC where she provides business advisory and dispute resolution consulting services to international energy companies, sovereign entities, and financial institutions. Prior to joining BRG, she worked at the US Department of Energy’s Energy Security Division and was a US Fulbright scholar to Sri Lanka. In addition to being a Women Leaders in Energy Fellow, Shiyana is a member of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce’s National Agenda Committee for Energy and a 2021 DC Fellow with the Clean Energy Leadership Institute (CELI). Her interests include an equitable energy transition for emerging markets, energy security in the Indian Ocean Region, and maritime energy infrastructure. Shiyana is an avid traveler, having visited over forty-five countries.
