The Sydney Morning Herald features the Atlantic Council event Unlocking the Trans-Pacific Partnership in an article defending the agreement in light of the debate over President Obama’s fast-track authority to finalize negotiations:

At Tuesday’s Atlantic Council forum, the Japanese ambassador, Kenichiro Sasae, agreed that the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) was crucial to the region’s security as well as to trade.

With the fast-track authority signed negotiators are hoping to finalise the agreement before American politics is overwhelmed by the presidential primary campaign.
