WASHINGTON – The Atlantic Council today named Ambassador Matthew Bryza as a Nonresident Senior Fellow with the Council’s Dinu Patriciu Eurasia Center.
Ambassador Bryza will contribute to the Council’s scholarship and outreach in support of the Patriciu Eurasia Center, which aims to promote transatlantic values and engagement with the countries of Eurasia and the greater Black Sea region. He brings both practical experience and creative ideas that will contribute to the Center’s goals of advancing freedom, prosperity, and stability in the region.
“Matt’s creativity, innovative energy, and diplomatic stature will further enhance our work in one of the world’s most crucial regions,” said Council President and CEO Frederick Kempe.
Having just completed a 23-year-career as a US diplomat, Ambassador Bryza most recently served as US ambassador to Azerbaijan (2011-12). He has also served as deputy assistant secretary of state for European and Eurasian affairs (2005-09) and National Security Council director for European and Eurasian affairs (2001-05).
