WASHINGTON – The Atlantic Council’s South Asia Center today launched a new website for its Emerging Leaders of Pakistan program at www.elpak.org, which seeks to support and empower the next generation of Pakistan’s civil society leaders to contribute positively to the growth and development of their country. The new site will allow individuals from Pakistan and around the world to learn more about the Emerging Leaders of Pakistan fellowship and civil society issues shaping the youth of Pakistan today, while providing a forum for engagement.
Developed and strategically guided by PROVOC, Inc., the siteprovides news and updates from the program, and links the public to civil society initiatives being developed by the program fellows. Through features like a fellows’ blog and connections through social media, the emerging leaders will share their experiences as fellows; broadcast information about ongoing youth-led initiatives in their respective communities; and post original thought pieces on key issues affecting young people in the country today.
The Atlantic Council’s Emerging Leaders of Pakistan program, now in its second year, is recruiting dynamic emerging leaders for its 2013 fellowship. During the program, fellows will visit the United States for three weeks to experience peer-to-peer collaboration, to strengthen relations between Americans and Pakistanis, and to empower the fellows with skills and ideas through sessions with prominent thinkers, innovators, philanthropists, entrepreneurs, policymakers, and civil society leaders.
