The United States faces unprecedented international challenges that together pose significant threats to global security and prosperity. Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, China’s coercive actions in the western Pacific, ISIS’ reign of terror, and other simmering crises all point to the need for reinvigorated US and transatlantic leadership in the world. Yet despite the demand for vigorous and sustained leadership across all of these fronts, American policymakers have not yet been able to articulate a strategic vision for the United States’ role in the world.
Through its Scowcroft Center for Strategy and Security, the Atlantic Council is undertaking efforts to help the United States work with its closest allies and partners to lead in an increasingly complex and turbulent world. These projects address strategic issues related to US leadership in the world and help transform the Atlantic Council into the go-to resource for strategic thinking in Washington.
