A Conversation with Opposition Advisor Amb. Oleh Shamshur

Amid Ukraine’s deepening crisis, a senior foreign affairs advisor to the opposition movement, Ambassador Oleh Shamshur, will speak in an online discussion with the Atlantic Council’s Damon Wilson about the standoff in Kyiv, the directions that events might take, and international responses to the confrontation. Shamshur is an advisor to Vitaliy Klitschko, leader of the opposition UDAR party, one of the two largest political parties amid the coalition that has confronted the government in Kyiv’s streets since November. Shamshur has served as Ukraine’s deputy foreign minister and was his country’s ambassador to the United States from 2005 to 2010 under former President Viktor Yushchenko.
