Shaping the global future together
The Councilors Society (formerly Councilors Program) is a bespoke membership program that provides opportunities for individuals seeking to further engage with the Atlantic Council and our sixteen programs and centers. The program serves to connect global thought leaders with specially curated programming featuring the latest foreign policy issues. Members come from a variety of countries and backgrounds, including government officials, diplomats, military personnel, and leaders in the business, legal, and financial sectors. Through private briefings, receptions, and roundtables, members of the Councilors Society have unparalleled access to the Atlantic Council and its breadth of intellectual resources.
Past events include:
- A private dinner and discussion on great power competition in Southampton, New York.
- A conversation with former CIA Acting Director Michael Morell.
- A conversation on denuclearization in North Korea with Alex Wong, deputy assistant secretary for North Korea at the US Department of State.
- A cocktail hour and panel discussion with Sotheby’s on the intersection between contemporary art and geopolitics.
- A briefing on the collapse of the US strategy in Afghanistan with Alex Zerdan, former financial attaché to Afghanistan with the US Treasury.
- A conversation on great power competition in the age of the pandemic, featuring Paula Dobriansky, former United States special envoy for Northern Ireland.

Annual membership benefits
Councilor ($5,000)
- Invitation to quarterly signature Councilor events.

- Exclusive opportunity to purchase tickets at a 40 percent discount for the annual Distinguished Leadership Awards in Washington, DC and Global Citizen Awards in New York.

Senior Councilor ($10,000)
- All the benefits at the Councilor level.
- Exclusive invitation to two private events of programmatic interest per year.
- Exclusive opportunity to purchase tickets at a 60 percent discount for the annual Distinguished Leadership Awards in Washington, DC and Global Citizen Awards in New York.

Global Councilor ($25,000)
- All the benefits at the Senior Councilor level.
- Up to one private meeting per year with Atlantic Council program and center directors regarding foreign policy issues.
- Two seats at the Atlantic Council Distinguished Leadership Awards in Washington, DC or at the Global Citizen Awards in New York.

How to join
