On Wednesday, August 13 at 10:00 a.m. ET, the Atlantic Council’s Forward Defense program, within the Scowcroft Center for Strategy and Security, will host a conversation with Group Captain Jonathan Farrow, deputy director of strategy, futures, partnerships, and requirements at the US Space Force headquarters, on the Space Force’s recently released Space Warfighting framework, Space Warfighting: A Framework for Planners.
Space is a warfighting domain, and the United States must evolve its approach to securing and sustaining space superiority. In conversation with Clementine Starling-Daniels, director of Forward Defense, Farrow will unpack the new framework, which provides operational planning considerations for conflict and combat in the space domain.
The discussion will explore how the framework guides the US Space Force in both peacetime competition and conflict, balances offensive and defensive operations, and integrates cutting-edge technologies with human decision-making. Farrow will also examine how the United States and its allies can responsibly project power in space while leveraging the commercial sector to ensure enduring advantage, credible deterrence, and integrated multidomain operations.
This event will take place in person at the Atlantic Council’s headquarters in Washington, DC. The event will also be livestreamed on ACTV, YouTube, and X. To join us in person or virtually, please complete the registration form.
