On Friday, November 7, at 9:00 a.m. ET the Atlantic Council’s Eurasia Center will convene visiting policymakers and regional experts following the C5+1 Presidential Summit to discuss next steps for US-Central Asia relations.

Central Asia is a strategically important region that borders Russia, China, and Iran, and lies not far from India and Pakistan. US engagement in the region peaked after 9/11 but dropped off in the past several years. The Trump administration has provided a welcome new focus on Central Asia, noting convergent interests in critical minerals and rare earths, bilateral investment, and connectivity with world markets. The White House’s decision to convene the C5+1 at the presidential level—for the first time in Washington, DC—on November 6 is proof of this growing interest in the region.

Join us for discussions on the C5+1 Summit and the path ahead for US-Central Asia engagement.

New policy: In-person attendees will be required to show photo ID upon arrival, and no on-site registration will be permitted. Guests will not be admitted later than twenty minutes after the event’s start time. Registration for this event will close at 5:00 p.m. ET the day prior.
