Freedom and Prosperity Center

The Center works to strengthen the core institutions that protect democracy, free markets, and the rule of law in an increasingly complex global environment. Its data show that reinforcing these freedoms and the institutions that protect them is the most effective path for countries to improve prosperity outcomes, such as income, education, and health.

Entrepreneurship and private sector-led development should work hand-in-hand with policy and regulation to unlock economic opportunities. The Center is creating a global tracker measuring laws and regulations that affect entrepreneurship, small and medium enterprise growth, and innovation, particularly in developing and emerging economies.

In the age of great-power competition, states must create policies that balance domestic economic advancement, humanitarian-driven aid, and national security. By bringing together policymakers, academic experts, and business leaders, the Center sets that agenda across economic growth, international assistance, and development finance.
