Europe After Brexit

On Thursday, June 30, 2016, the Atlantic Council’s Future Europe Initiative launched a workshop series, aimed at galvanizing close colleagues and friends around a Europe strategy following the historic June 23 Brexit vote, through sustained and structured discussions among transatlantic partners. Executive Vice President for Programs and Strategy, Damon Wilson, and Nonresident Senior Fellow, Erwan Lagadec, co-chaired the conversation with Americans and Europeans of Washington’s foreign policy community who are invested in Europe’s future. Participants analyzed the geopolitical impact of the vote on the European Union (EU) and Britain’s place. Additionally, they addressed institutional consequences for the EU and possible implications for Scotland, Northern Ireland, and European integration.
